The Jacobs Foundation is issuing a call for nominations for the 2017 Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize. The prize, which is endowed with one million Swiss Francs, honors outstanding scientific contributions of scholars aiming at improving the development and living conditions of children and youth.

Scholars, academic institutions, and professional organizations all over the world who are engaged in research on children and youth are encouraged to submit nominations. Potential recipients may come from any scholarly discipline that seeks to enhance the development and living conditions of children and youth. This includes, but is not limited to, educational sciences, psychology, economics, sociology, family studies, media studies, linguistics, neurosciences, computer sciences, and medical sciences.

An international committee of leading scientists will select a prize recipient with an outstanding record of achievement. Past recipients of the Klaus J. Jacobs Research Prize are Orazio P. Attanasio (2016), Sarah-Jayne Blakemore (2015), Michael J. Meaney (2014), Greg J. Duncan (2013), Dante Cicchetti (2012), Michael Tomasello (2011), Terrie E. Moffitt and Avshalom Caspi (2010) as well as Laurence Steinberg (2009).

The Jacobs Foundation will accept nominations until March 1, 2017. Self nominations are not permitted.
